By Linxens , on August 25th 2020

Linxens is proud to announce that it has joined the Greener Payments Partnership (GPP) with Mastercard and card manufacturers Thalès, Giesecke+Devrient, IDEMIA and CPI.

The mission of the GPP is to reduce first-use polyvinyl chloride (PVC) in all cards and to research alternative materials for cards, including recyclable, bio-sourced and biodegradable materials.

PVC is one of the most widely used plastics in the world and concerns are rising about the environmental impact this material generates.

“At Linxens, we believe that it is our responsibility to offer sustainable solutions to our clients and partners. By joining the GPP we will have more opportunities to work with the major actors in the industry to continue developing responsible solutions that can help to protect our planet,” comments Arnaud Brunetiere, Chief Operating Officer, Linxens.

Committed to providing greener solutions for its clients and partners, Linxens aims to promote the use of alternative materials for contactless and dual-interface cards. As an example, Linxens developed EcoLAM®, a range of recycled, renewable and recyclable materials, ready for mass production and compatible with current smartcard processes.

Linxens is proud to be part of the GPP program and to help card manufacturers make the payment market more sustainable.
